Dear Friends,


You can choose to live life without any direction or purpose, or you can choose to live life deliberately, using your deliberate intention.


Living deliberately happens when you realize that you are vested with incredible powers to create your own reality, when you decide to take control of your life and to make all your dreams come true. When you ask clearly for what you want, you are engaging your intention deliberately and you will get what you ask for.


Many people are not using their power of intention, because they do not believe that they will get what they ask for. They do not believe that it can be that easy!


It is with this in mind that I would like to share with you some valuable tips on how best you can fulfil your dreams, just by being aware of the focus of your intention and attention every day and then asking clearly for what you want in life.


The purpose of Attention and Intention


It is common to go through each day quite unaware of what you pay attention to and how you use your intention. Thus, it is useful to know what happens in the manifestation process, when you engage your attention or intention.


Attention can be described as the act of paying attention to something or someone, by looking, listening, observing or being aware of it.


Intention describes a decision to take a certain action to achieve a certain objective.


If you wish to manifest your goals faster, you must ensure that your attention is aligned your intention.


Throughout each day, your experiences good or bad, will indicate to you, the focus of your attention and intention. If your attention is focussed on unwanted things, you will surely attract unwanted experiences and vice versa. However, once you are aware that your attention is attracting negative experiences, you can consciously apply your intention towards creating positive experiences. Your intention will shift your attention to your desire.


To manifest your goals, you need to engage 3 things, Attention + Intention + Emotions


When your attention is accompanied with emotion, you will attract your goals faster. Thus, when you are observing something that upsets you, know that your continued attention and emotional involvement, will attract more unhappiness.

Conversely, your continued attention on happy situations will create more happiness.

The value of self-awareness


It is important to note that you cannot change what you are not aware of. This explains why people are stuck in unwanted experiences. Self-awareness makes you conscious of the fact that your continued attention to a problem, will attract it into your experience. To remove the problem from your experience, you must remove your attention from it. For example, you should stop talking about a subject if it bothers you. You should not engage in activities which do not bring you joy. The negative energy you accumulate, will only attract more negativity into your life. With awareness, you can choose what you want and avoid what you don’t want.


Your intentions act as a compass to navigate your life.


Intention is more powerful than awareness, because it gives your awareness direction. Your deliberate intention will take you to where you want to be.


With your free will, you can always choose to give your attention to something that pleases you. You can decide how you wish to feel from one moment to the next.


Intention has tremendous power and energy. Every intention or desire has your expectation of its fulfilment. In every intention or desire, lies the mechanics for its fulfilment. This is what Jesus meant when he said, “Ask and it is given.”


Intend that nothing is more important than to feel good every day


You are meant to keep asking for what you want, so that you will keep evolving as a spiritual being. When you have clarity of intention, the universe conspires with you to make things happen.


Affirm your intentions with powerful words such as:

“I intend to be happy no matter what.”

“I intend to stay peaceful under all circumstances.”

“I am attracting the perfect job.”

“The perfect partner is coming in the perfect way.”

“I am enjoying perfect health.”

“Money is coming to me easily and effortlessly.”

“I have everything I need to live a wonderful life!”


Such powerful words carry powerful vibrations which will accelerate the process of manifesting your desires.


Your intentions can only be created in the present moment


Focus your attention on the power inherent in the present moment. All your desires and wishes can only be made in the present moment where creative potential lies. You cannot create in the past because it is gone. Neither can you create in the future because it has not arrived. The present moment offers you infinite possibilities to create the future you desire.


How best to apply your intention?


  1. Begin every morning with the intention that it will be a great day and that everything will move smoothly for you and it will manifest for you.

  2. Throughout the day, express your intention to see each activity turning out well. This positive projection will become true for you.

  3. The minute you notice that you are affected negatively by what is going on around you, quickly apply your intention. Decide to take control. Shift your attention to something pleasant that will improve your vibration. Do not to let things spiral out of your control.

  4. Use your Intention to improve relationships. Intend that “nothing and no one can disturb my inner peace.” With practise, you will eventually be unaffected by the same people or situations.

  5. Choosing to feel optimistic, happy and peaceful puts you on a high frequency bandwidth, which will continually attract positive experiences into your life.

  6. Once you have gathered a steady momentum of positive vibrations, anything you ask for will come easily to you through the Law of Attraction.


The divine expression of intention


Intention is the source of all creation. Divine intention, created this universe. The universe is an expression of boundless love and abundance. All creation is assured of long-term survival against all imaginable and unimaginable challenges. The forests, flora, fauna and fish are fully equipped to thrive in all conditions. They know this, so they do not worry about their existence. They are enjoying the present moment.


It is time for us to learn from Nature and let go of living life at ordinary levels of existence. We need to realize who we really are and use our innate powers to create our dreams!


You are connected to this divine expression of intention


Everything in this universe including you and Nature, was intended by Source or God. Thus everything and everyone is always connected to Source which breathes life in all of us and organizes our life functions.


Through this connection, you too are drawing your inspiration and intentions from this eternal Source, which is pure abundance, joy and wellbeing. That is why when you ask, it is given by Source or God. Through this divine connection, in essence, you are asking from yourself.


The great 13th century Sufi poet and philosopher, Jalaluddin Rumi, explained this connection succinctly when he said,


“Everything from this universe is within you.

Ask from yourself.”


If you can grasp this profound fact, you will forever dispel all self-doubt. You will realize your greatness as a creator and move on to create a great life for yourself.

The truth about fear


The truth about fear is that it is not real. Fear is an illusion, created by our thoughts, and just as we have the power to choose our thoughts, we have the power to dissipate fear at will.


Because we have not understood fear, we have allowed it to take centre-stage in our lives. It is time to acknowledge that fear is false evidence appearing real.

In essence, fear is nothing more than a thought, followed by a feeling that you are in danger and that something bad might happen. If you fear the future, which is yet to happen, it is clear that fear is merely a figment of your imagination.


It is a bitter pill to swallow when you realize that all fears are self-created or imagined in your mind. You know this to be true because fear of something may not have existed at one point in time. Yet, the next minute, that fear took on a life of its own, until one day you realize that you have accumulated a whole list of things to be fearful about.

The Law of Attraction unerringly responds to the vibration expressed through your fears and without question, returns to you more fear vibration by sending you more things to be fearful about.



List of common fears

  • Fear of failure

  • Fear of public speaking

  • Fear of rejection

  • Fear of death


Fear is your personal interpretation


It is important to note that what you decide is fearful, is not fearful to another person. You may fear meeting new people, because you may feel inadequate at making conversation and you fear being rejected by people. Meanwhile, someone else might love meeting new people as a way of making new friends or business contacts. Some people dislike networking, while others love networking opportunities. So the idea of meeting people, is neither good, nor bad, nor fearful, unless you decide it is.



Fear of failure


Fear is a not a rational behaviour because often, we cannot rationalize our fear. However, it is important to realize that whatever it is that you fear, has not happened and yet you cannot stop being afraid.


Fear of failure will prevent you from taking risks and attempting new things that could improve your life. In reality, you haven’t failed yet, but the thought of failure and its consequences, stops you from taking positive action that could transform your life. Perhaps the memory of having failed once before, is enough to prevent a repeat experience. Know that fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.



Fear of dying


Death and dying is inevitable. We will all die one day of something or other, but to let the fear of death predominate your mind, is totally unnecessary. Fear of death will prevent you from living a normal life.


If you are in good health now, you should give thanks and celebrate your good health. Heath is indeed wealth! If good health is what you desire, make sure all your thoughts, words, feelings and actions support your desire. Only positive vibrations will help you sustain the positive frequency of good health and wellness.



Thoughts becomes things


Every time you focus on your fear, you are reinforcing the illusion that fear is real, when it is not. This habit of giving undue importance to fear, will transform your fear from mere thought energy into matter, thus actually creating your experience of fear.



Understand the negative impact of fear


Nothing in life is to be feared.

It is only to be understood.

Now is the time to understand more,

so that we may fear less.

When you are fearful, it gives rise to worry, frustration and anger. Furthermore, the stress caused by fear can have a far more negative impact on you than whatever it is you are afraid of. Chronic fear is debilitating and can result in severe symptoms such as intense depression, insomnia, mental, emotional and physical instability and the inability to focus on your goals. These symptoms deprive you from enjoying life.



What happens in your energy system when fear is triggered?


There is a part of our brain called the amygdala which triggers “the flight or fight response”. This describes a mechanism in the body that enables human beings and animals to mobilize a lot of energy rapidly in order to cope with threats to survival.


Fear can be interpreted as a threat to our survival. When a threat is perceived, the autonomic nervous system puts the body on red alert. The adrenal cortex automatically releases stress hormones. The heart automatically beats harder and more rapidly and breathing automatically becomes more rapid. The thyroid gland automatically stimulates the metabolism. Larger muscles automatically receive more oxygenated blood.

Fear is often a false alarm

The important thing to remember is that the “fight or flight response” is an automatic response, not a rational response and it isn't always accurate. In fact, most of the time when the “fight or flight response” is triggered, it is a false alarm because there is no threat to survival. The amygdala, cannot distinguish between a real threat and a perceived threat.



The ‘freeze’ response


Sometimes the perceived threat is so intense that it triggers a "freeze" response. It probably evolved in humans and animals as a way of "keeping still" so a predator's attention would not be triggered by movement. Nowadays, some people “freeze” on stage when they have to make a public address.


In modern-day living, we have come to interpret so many minor things as “threats to our survival” such as fear of deadlines, fear of making a mistake, fear of rejection, a call from your boss, traffic jams, gossip about you, a warning letter from your bank, growing old, etc. All these situations release large doses of cortisol into your bloodstream, causing permanent damage to our health and wellbeing.

Whenever you are consumed by fear, you feel powerless. Yet, when you face the truth, no one else can think your thoughts. You already possess absolute power and freedom to choose your response in every moment. Thus, it is ironic that the freedom you so longed for, you already possess.

Once you realize that your fears are stories you made up in your own mind, you are free to recreate at will, a whole new set of stories that will materialize the life you desire.

Love versus Fear


When you are focussing on your fear, you are focussing on what you do not want to happen, while at the same time, desiring something you do want to happen. Your low fear vibration is in contradiction to the high vibration of what you want to create in your life. If you want to manifest you desire, your personal vibration has to be a vibrational match with the vibration of your desire.


Fear is an unloving act directed at yourself. If you loved yourself enough, you will believe that you can create what you desire, because you deserve to be happy.


Fear only exists because you have forgotten that you hold the power to project new thoughts and desires at any given moment. When you return to loving and believing in yourself, you will focus on thoughts that will attract the life you desire.



Freedom is power


Fear distorts reality. It makes you see a world that is threatening and unsafe, a world of lack where there isn’t enough of everything to go around including money, resources and love.


Why not invest your time and energy believing in what is true, real and permanent, such as the existence of abundance, love, beauty, joy and peace. These are always available, accessible and free of charge. It is yours for the asking and taking.


The yearning to experience total freedom, is the call of your soul. Watching an eagle soar to great heights, gives you a taste of what true freedom and power really feel like. Heed the call of your soul. Believe that you are always divinely guided and blessed. This is an abundant universe. No one can take your share. Happiness, love, joy and peace are your birth-right.

The most understated, underestimated power, is the power of your thoughts and beliefs. Unbeknownst to most people, your thoughts in every moment, are creating your experiences and deciding your future. Your dominant thoughts and beliefs, impact every area of your life – mental, emotional and physical health, your finances, your relationships and your success. Thus, it would serve you well to choose your thoughts and beliefs wisely, because your life depends on it.

Thoughts become things


Experts estimate that the mind thinks between 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day. That's an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. For most people, 80% of thoughts are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts.


Given that thinking is our most frequent activity each day, it is ironic that most people are not even conscious of the thoughts they are thinking throughout each day, let alone the fact that they hold tremendous power to shape their destiny.


Few people understand the potency of thoughts and beliefs. They are one of the most intense vibrations and forms of energy in this universe. It is important to know that every thought is just an impulse of energy. However, when you repeatedly focus on the same thought, with sufficient intent, emotion and belief, its energy is intensified and that thought materializes into matter. That thought becomes as real as the things which you can see and hold in your hands.


This materialization is evident, when your dreams are realised in the career you now enjoy, the house you now live in and in the life partner you chose.


Whenever you are thinking about the past, present or future, you are in the process of creating your life.

Thoughts become beliefs


Your dominant thoughts repeated often enough, become your beliefs. Most of your thoughts were unconsciously downloaded from your parents, your education, your culture, religion and the media.


By now, you would have accumulated countless beliefs which you have accepted as true, without questioning their veracity. If you questioned some of these beliefs, you will be surprised that many of them hold no truth whatsoever, or their validity stands on shaky ground. Putting your faith in erroneous beliefs, limits your vision of what is possible.


Examples of such beliefs are:


Not everyone is lucky.”


“Nothing comes easy.


“It is unsafe to fly.”


“The world is full of crooks.”


“It’s too late for me.”



Life mirrors your beliefs


Once you believe something to be true, you will keep looking for evidence in life to prove your beliefs to be true. Eventually your thoughts develop into a belief system which become entrenched in your subconscious mind. Your belief system decides what is right or wrong, what is good or bad. Your belief system includes your perceptions, interpretations, your preferences, your prejudices and judgements of yourself, people, life and the world. It is important to note that your beliefs become the filters through which you view everything. How you see life, becomes your personal reality, unique to yourself. Your deep-seated beliefs shape your personality and character and influence all your life decisions and actions. Ultimately, every aspect of your life is a reflection of your innermost beliefs.


For example, if you believe money is the most important thing in life, then all your actions and decisions will be guided by that belief only. If you think relationships are the most important thing in life, then you will try to save relationships at any cost in all your decisions.


If you believe in scarcity, it will perpetuate fear, unnecessary hoarding and refusing to share with others. This limiting belief will prevent you from believing in abundance and experiencing it.


Eventually, you will realize that the real cause of all problems, is not life itself. The world is neither good or bad, nor defective, unless you think so. How you see the world, is how you will experience it.


Change your beliefs and you can change your life


If you wish to improve your life in any way, you need to review your belief system first. You need to know which beliefs are creating problems in your life. Are you experiencing problems with money, relationships, or in your career? Is there a pattern of failure in certain areas of your life? Examine the way you are looking at yourself, people and life. You should be very honest with yourself while analysing your beliefs.


Things to notice

  1. Most thoughts are memories of the past or fear of the future.

  2. 95% of thoughts replay past hurts, regrets, sadness, resentments and failures.

  3. 80% of thoughts are negative and make you feel sad, depressed, angry and powerless. Such thoughts are self-destructive and block your success.

The Law of Attraction

This cosmic law manages the vibrations of the universe, including your personal vibration.

  1. Its only function is to respond to the vibrations of your thoughts and emotions, by bringing you people, events and things that match your vibration. If your personal vibration is sad, hurt and depressed, this Law will respond by bringing you more reasons to be sad, hurt and depressed.

  2. The longer you focus on a thought, the stronger the vibration and the sooner it will appear in your life.

  3. This Law works whether you are thinking about something you want or something you don’t want.

  4. This Law is always operating, whether you realize it or not.


The window of opportunity


In every moment, you can consciously delete useless, repetitive, negative thoughts or save thoughts and beliefs which will empower you to create your desired life.


Whatever your situation, the practice of gratitude invariably shows you the right perspective. It reminds you of what you already have, which brings relief and comfort. Looking for things to appreciate all day long, will bring you to the present moment, when you can create new results.

Silence in meditation, is the most effective way to silence the 80,000 thoughts running freely through your mind each day, often creating undesirable results.


The 13th century Sufi poet and philosopher, Rumi Jalaladin, rightly advised, “Protect yourself from your own thoughts.” He was succinct on the value of silence,


“Silence is the language of God.

Everything else is poor translation.”

What will you do now?

Now that you know how powerful your thoughts and beliefs are, what will you do with this information? When you realize you can step away from being powerless into the mind of a powerful creator, will you step up and act? Will you take up the offer to be the author, director/producer of your own life?
