Dear Friends,
This is a good time to take stock of how we are responding to the current crisis. How can we ensure that our state of mind and state of being is calm and peaceful, when everything around us is chaotic? The answer lies in our faith and hope.
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
Desmond Tutu
The Power Of Hope
There is hope when we realize we can exercise our personal power to see a better reality despite the bleak one we are facing. This choice will turn around our experience of the current crisis.
Everything is energy. Our thoughts, words and feelings, carry powerful energy and determines how we experience life.
What we read, listen to and speak about, affects how we feel. How we feel, ultimately affects our mental and emotional health.
Fear Is Contagious
Unfortunately, we are very affected by tuning into the mass media which is more focussed on negative news about this virus. Notice that when we focus only on the uncontrollable spread of this virus and on the rising number of deaths, we become more fearful and powerless? Most people are scared and feel powerless now. This is the current reality we are experiencing.
If we continue to feed our fears with more negative news, we will become more fearful. Fear is contagious and affects everyone around us.
Choose To See A Better Reality
Even during this crisis, there is another reality that we can choose to see and experience – an improved reality that gives us hope. Hope is a powerful energy that will shift our state of mind and state of being.
Focus On The Positive
If we want to feel better, we must shift our attention to positive news about this situation. Pay more attention to news of many countries which have effectively stopped the spread of this virus and where the number of deaths have reduced. Many people have recovered from this virus. Global efforts to find a cure are very encouraging.
Many organizations are offering help to those affected. They have shown their love and compassion in amazing ways. Focussing on positive news immediately changes our personal vibration. When we feel more hopeful, we spread hope to those around us.
The Power Of Positive Beliefs
In our thoughts and beliefs, lie our power to change our personal experience. We must believe that this situation is temporary and that this crisis too shall pass. This is the time to believe in infinite possibilities and in miracles. We do not have all the answers, but God knows everything. This is the time to pray, let go and let God. Pray for an end to crisis, pray for the sick to be healed and for everyone to be safe.
The Power Of Positive Words
We can improve our state of being by ensuring that our internal dialogue is positive.
When we have to go out, instead of fearing that we might contract this virus, pray that we will be protected. Repeat the following affirmations:
“I am always divinely protected.”
“God is greater.”
“This too will pass.”
These positive affirmations will make us feel stronger, safer and protected. Faith and hope are powerful vibrations which will improve our mental and physical heath.
Spend Your Time In Meaningful Activities
We have a lot of time on our hands now. We can do some mental spring-cleaning. Sweep away negative, useless thoughts and instead plant positive seeds of hope, love and peace for everyone.
Some people complain that they are bored staying at home. This time given to you is a luxury. You can do all the things you have been putting off for some time.
This is a good time for self-refection. Realize what truly matters in your life and focus on ways to achieve them.
Count your blessings. Gratitude is a powerful vibration that will attract more reasons for you to be grateful.
The Value Of Silence
Your life is created from the inside-out. Pay less attention on the drama outside and go within. Spend some time in silence and meditation every day. In silence and meditation, you are able to release your fears and anxiety. When you are calm, you are able to listen to divine guidance offering you cues or impulses to act on. Silence and stillness show you the way to love and peace. When we are calm and peaceful, we will spread peace all around us.
“Silence is a source of great strength.”
Lao Tzu
